On top of sedimentary and low mountain which is called Goor Dakhma(Tower of silence), there are 2 circular stone tower- like buildings with a hollow space. The Zoroastrians of Yazd used these places as open burial pits according to religious practices, as Zoroastrians started to bury in cemetery, using of Dakhma stopped. As many Zoroastrians lived in this city, most of these Dakhmas are in Yazd. It’s about 30 years which Dakhmas in Yazd is not already used. There is an ossuary pit at the center of circular building which is called ostudan. Bones of dead bodies were collected in it. In fact, Dakhma was like a cemetery that was used repeatedly.
